Thandokuhle Sithole

Biography
Thando (for short) is a hydrological analytics researcher and irrigation engineer who is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in the Graduate School of Engineering (department of Urban Management) at Kyoto University throught the Monbukagakusho Scholarship program. His work blends machine learning, operations research, and water resources to improve irrigation performance and drought resilience. He previously served as an Irrigation Engineer at Irricon (South Africa) where he led surveying, water conveyance and irrigation system design projects. Thando holds an M.Tech. in Irrigation & Drainage Engineering (G.B. Pant University) through the India-Africa Fellowship Scheme, and a B.Sc. in Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering (University of Eswatini).
